I am an experienced Senior leader and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion specialist with a proven track record of leading and growing a culture of EDI in the workplace and wider community. Currently I am responsible for driving, developing and delivering evidence-based inclusion strategies and programmes across the organisation, that support transformation and shape workplace and volunteering
culture, as the Head of EDI at the Royal Society of the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
My approach to introducing a culture of EDI has been to start with creating safe spaces and to action deep listening processes with staff and members at all levels of organisation. To embed change it has been vital to centre accountability from Senior Leadership with listening, at times to uncomfortable truths, recognising fears
surrounding change and getting a baseline for peoples understanding, awareness and empathy.
