Through spring, sessions will run from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with the rest of the time available for activities and socialising.

We provide transport to Betteshanger Country Park, where the 2-mile trek will take place.

The trek includes learning about foraging from our lead Bekah

Join us to enjoy the fresh air, take a break, enjoy yourself, and feel better after 2 hrs of some high-quality time.

We will provide warm refreshments that are non-dairy, vegan, gluten-free, and warm.

Accessibility and Challenge Rating:

This location is suitable for mobility scooter/ powerchair users/ walking frames and provides adjustments for additional needs.

Highlights and Facilities:

♿ Wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly, up to the participant's discretion if they require assistance from one of our support walkers.

🚙 All-day parking is £5 per vehicle - unless you have a blue badge. You can enter Betteshanger on foot or by bicycle for free.

🚾 Toilets in the visitor centre provide an accessible toilet, a baby changing room and an accessible toilet/shower room.

🚸 All ages/abilities welcome.

🏳️‍🌈 Welcoming and friendly group.

📚 Interactive and sensory with nature.

🌄 A route with opportunities to see a lake and ponds.

🔊 Equipment and support can be provided for Visual or Hearing impairments (please let us know beforehand).

⏰ 2 miles/60 Mins, but feel free to stop at a bench and/or follow the signs to LAMP cafe, where we will meet you after the trek.

🐕‍🦺 Support dogs and well-behaved dogs are welcome (please notify the host if participants may be afraid of dogs in advance).

For folks outside of Thanet, please note we will be providing a carpool from Sandwich Train Station in Kent to Betteshanger Country Park; all the details about transport will be explained once you book onto the trek.

How much is it? £10, as a registered non-profit, your support helps cover the core costs of running these community events. We don't want people to miss out please use community option to pay what you can or if you wish to donate an additional amount.

Our Forage Facilitator Bio:

Meet Bekah

Bekah is a Herbal medicine enthusiast, Urban Forager, Community Wellness Builder, Sociopolitical Photographer, Facilitator and Producer.

Through her work, Williams' mission is to create and build spaces where those who are underrepresented and who are the keepers of incredibly rich and nuanced stories can be seen, heard, and appreciated. Specifically by ensuring the arts and wellness are more available and accessible to those from the Global Majority

.

She is a huge advocate for assisting and inspiring Black and Brown people to return to nature, reclaim ancestral plant knowledge and ethically forage to manage mental, physical and spiritual health in communion with others. She is also a scared circle facilitator for women and femmes from the Global Majority.
