About The Event

Join us for our Wetlands Trek n Talk

Come and join us to learn about wetland wildlife.

Our adventure will be focused positive impact of being in nature.

We will also get the opportunity to draw and meet new people.

ITENARY

A fun session of bird watching and sightseeing.

CARPOOL

9:00 AM Ideal time to arrive for carpool from PeopleDem Margate - Get changed, meet everyone, ask NBE questions

PeopleDem 49 Marine Terrace, Margate, Thanet, CT9 1XP

Please get in touch with me if you'd like to travel, buddy or join a carpool.

There will be signage to show you where we are or look for the person of female presentation, afro heritage, 5ft and wearing head to toe in orange.

9:10 AM We leave promptly and carpool to WWT London Wetland Centre, going from PeopleDem, and we will return to Peopledem at the end of the day.

START TIME

10:50 Arrival at WWT London Wetland Centre  & Welcome from NBE

11:50 Arrival at WWT London Wetland Centre & Welcome at WWT London Wetland Centre

Signage will show you where we are when you reach the WWT London WetlTrekCentre for the trek.

The 12:15 Noon Session starts promptly.

You'll get the opportunity to enjoy learning about nature in the Wetlands.

During the walk, we will be running drawing activities throughout the walk.

There will be people with high-vis vests on to ask questions.

2:00 PM Trekalise

We will Trek for an hr then return to Centre Cafe for refreshments.

3:00 PM Goodbyes 

Car pool will return to PeopleDem Margate.

What to expect from the event:

  • Please bring a bottle of water 
  • There will be signage to show you where we are.
  • During the walk, people with high-vis vests will be on to ask questions.
  • At the halfway point, you can turn back with people if you wish.
  • We will be taking pictures. If you do not want to be photographed or wish to see photographs after the event before they are used for marketing or social media/ website, please email nbefitness@gmail.com
  • Adaptable teaching its soul train but no one will get left behind
  • For accessibility, we are happy to provide BSL please email nbefitness@gmail.com

What we're doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

  • We provide gluten-free/no-nut snacks, sanitiser, antibacterial spray and paper towels

Car

Parking is free parking for visitors to our wetland centre.

Train

Only a 6-minute walk from Barnes Train Station.

Bus

Bus 33  Depart Barnes- Lonsdale Road Stop for Wetlands

Cycle

Cycling is an environmentally friendly and pleasant way to arrive at the centre. In addition to standard cycle racks, there are eighteen secure bike cages (we strongly recommend bringing a D lock to secure your bike).
